Crystal clear water of Timobo ~ Timobo Cave

TIMOBO CAVE| is one of the famous caves in Camotes Island located in the province of Cebu. The crystal-clear cool water and the unique rock formations make the cave naturally magical. The cave is located in Brgy. Sonog, San Francisco, 300 meters away from the barangay proper.

One may pay an entrance fee of 15php, and then start to descend a little until a medium-sized rock hole(mouth of the cave)is seen, get through it and it will lead you stepping into the cemented stairs. Established lights are built inside, so no need to bring headlamps or flashlights with you.

Take a dip and feel the enchanting beauty of nature. Inside the cave, a crystal-clear pool of water will catch your attention and it has two sections, one is on the very deck and the other is on the end section of the cave. One may swim straight ahead to reach this area. You may observe the high and low tide of the water. The natural formation of the pool inside is a perfect place to swim, minus the elements of the sun.

However, the cave is not recommended for tourist with heart problems.

Timobo Cave has a memorable significance to the people living in Brgy. Sunod. Long time ago, the abundant water inside the cave served as their source of water supply and was used for drinking, cooking, washing, bathing and more there is you can tell.
